Many food banks and soup kitchens in Hong Kong have temporarily closed due to COVID-19, putting the city’s needy in a tight spot when it comes to getting access to hot meals. Fortunately, 7-Eleven has stepped up to the plate with a new Charity Meal Program.
Here’s how it works: simply register at the website, purchase a $15 meal voucher at any 7-Eleven outlet, scan the voucher’s QR code or input the receipt details, then select a charity you wish to donate to — People’s Food Bank, Food Angel, Pei Ho Counterparts, Foodlink, or Hong Kong Christian Service.
The program will run from April 20 to May 17.
