Queer Diary: Unruly Visions is a photography exhibition in Hong Kong featuring works by nine LGBTQ+ image makers, exploring issues such as politics, same-sex marriage and gender perceptions. It began with a workshop for emerging Hong Kong LGBTQ+ photographers led by New York-based photographer Tse Ka-Man in 2019, whose goal was to build a community for LGBTQ+ image makers and to facilitate the development of their practices. The nine artists included are Rain Chan Wing Ki, Fung Ming Sum, WY Kwan, N Kwong, Green Mok, Nelson Tang Chak Man, Mac Tsang, Wiency Wong and Monique Yim. The wide range of work presents a revealing look into queer sensibilities and showcases the importance of queer culture as a counterbalance to mainstream norms.
