Healthy Hipster: A Side / B Side offers a menu of simple Japanese-inspired dishes in a so-hip-it-hurts setting — think a low-key entrance, old-school metal gates, and even a turntable. Its offerings will appeal to the health-conscious urbanite — locally grown ingredients and organic vegetables feature prominently.
Look & Feel: Much like many other bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, A Side / B Side takes after an industrial chic aesthetic. A turquoise wall dominates the space, which is decked out with seating around the bar/open kitchen. It seats 22 on a first-come, first-served basis, although parties of more than 15 can make reservations.
On the Menu: Wholesome, well-presented dishes take centerstage, featuring seasonal ingredients. Starters include the likes of okra, pan-fried cauliflower and the like ($95 each). Choose from steak, chicken or fish as mains.
Great For: Evening for two, a weeknight dinner out of the ordinary.
FYI: The restaurant’s name pays homage to old records.
