Cantonese Greatest Hits: Following an opening at California Tower in Lan Kwai Fong, modern Chinese restaurant Redhouse now also boasts a new location in Causeway Bay. Expect Cantonese cuisine favorites like signature roast meats, seafood dishes and of course, dim sum.
Look & Feel: The restaurant is decked out in red (natch), the color of luck and prosperity in Chinese culture. It has a similar look and feel to the original, with reds and golds dominating the color scheme – and thankfully, both have an opulent rather than tacky feel.
On the Menu: Dim sum like rose gold har gao ($52), kurobuta pork siu mai with crab roe ($52) and tricolor steamed dumplings with prawn, veggies and pine nuts ($46). Plus, baller signatures like Peking duck ($298 and up) and crispy roasted suckling pig ($688).
Great For: Group dining – the more the merrier, given the family-style nature of dining in Cantonese cuisine.
FYI: The restaurant is run by Gaia Group, which also operates the likes of Gaia Ristorante and Greyhound Cafe.
