Dim Sum Central: The Square by the Maxim’s group is a sprawling space at Exchange Square II, serving dim sum and a selection of updated Cantonese classics.
Look & Feel: Brown carpets, plush chairs and white tablecloths make The Square a pretty generic-looking upscale Canto establishment, and one that’s not without its charms.
On the Menu: All your typical dim sum and then some are on offer, and come dinner, fancy Cantonese delicacies fill the menu (think crab claws, sauteed lobster, fried rice and noodles).
Service: Quick and efficient will be your service guarantee, and you really wouldn’t expect anything more.
Jeng: The Square’s got the ambient buzz that marks any successful dim sum hall. Oh, and the dim sum is fail-safe. Go for the bean curd sheet rolls, the silky cheung fun, and any of the dumplings.
Great For: Group pow-wows and a casual weekend brunch.
FYI: The Square has been a Michelin favorite for many years.
